Mother’s Day Menu 2020 – Sheltering at Home Era

Just recently we were lucky enough to score a bottle of Boyle MacDonald 2018 Dry Rose.   Winemaker Kate has done it again with this beautiful French style rose.   Craig in his quiet, shy manner(a bit of humor here!)  shared ideas of what to pair with  this light, dry wine.  Mother’s Day brunch came to mind.

Boyle MacDonald Wine Tasting Room is located just across from The Spice Tin and up a short flight of stairs – well worth the effort!

My menu selections include:  Salmon Pate, Crispy Baked Cheese Raviolis with Artichoke Bruschetta for dippping , Haricot Verts with light vinaigrette, finished with strawberries coated in Bourbon Smoked Sugar.  The pairings were perfect except the strawberries were too acidic for this elegant wine.  The raviolis are from Vinciguerra Ravioli Company in Jackson, California.  Jim Vinciguerra learned to make raviolis the old country way from his grandmother Teresa.  If you are lucky you can watch him at work in his windowed shop on Highway 49.

Meanwhile at The Tin, we are transitioning to the new requirements when we are able to reopen.  We are calling it “The Store at the Door”.  Only a few people will be able to be in the store at the same time, masks required.  However, we will have laminated Product and Price lists outside, along with sanitizer, pens and notepads.  Web orders, phone orders and email orders are all welcome and all allow for pick up at The Spice Tin.  Our Square system has an easy email invoice with link to pay online.  Folks could place an order, receive an invoice, within minutes depending how busy the shop is, pay the invoice and the receive a pick up time.  While we know this is a stressful period for everyone, The Spice Tin is still about Food, Fun and Friends.  We cannot thank all of you wonderful Tin friends for the love and support you have shared with us these past few weeks.

Store hours for pick up: Monday – Friday, 11:00 to 3:00 until further notice.
